Our New Place

We finally made it to Washington and into our own place! It is really nice to have our stuff out of boxes and to feel like we're finally setting up the foundation for our life in the North West.

Our new place is in a cute and tiny  town called Sumner.
It is seriously small. But we are within 10 minutes of a few major cities. Its nice to be somewhere quiet and quaint but not cut off from society. There is a Target just up the hill!

We are enjoying our new place quite a bit and are ready for visitors. (hint hint...nudge, nudge... kick in the shin)

Max really loves being under things. He will climb into the tiniest space and just hang out. Its super cute, but kind of unsafe sometimes depending on his choice of dwelling. So, Mike and I decided to get him a little tent for his birthday. We waited until after the move to get it. Needless to say the kid loves the thing.

Pretty sweet set up, huh?

Isn't he just the cutest!

Max walking!!!

Sunday, July 24, 2011

Stevie guilted me into blogging...

I am obviously the worst blogger in the world... sorry.
So, here is just a quick update and some pictures.
We are STILL in Oregon. Things are coming together a little slower than we had hoped. With Mike traveling a ton for work and our super long trip to Utah, its been hard to get things on track. But its looking like we found a place in a town called Sumner, Washington. Its a lot like our old place in Utah, so it feels more like home. We *should* be moving there around August 5th.

Max is walking! I have tried to upload a video here but for some reason blogger and Youtube both hate me. But I'll keep working on it. I did post it to Facebook. So feel free to look at it there if you haven't seen it already.
Here are a few pictures of Max's new talents.
Using his toys to climb on the furniture.
(this bike is now hidden and is an outside toy only now.)

Because one bike at a time is just not enough!

Heading to the library and the pool with Millie and Maddie!

Walking away with the computer mouse.

 Feeding himself!
He just started this today and only ended up wearing like 1/3 of it!

Rain, rain stay away

Max loves bath time. No matter how tired he is he always laughs and smiles and splashes.

It was a really nice weekend, which here means a whole day without rain AND the sun is out. Max had his first experience with grass. He refused to crawl on it but happily sat and watched dad play with the dogs.

And seemed to enjoy walking in it also.

Its never too early to learn good oral hygiene!

Since Max has two teeth already and three more on the way, I figured it was time to get him used to brushing his teeth.
He thought it was fun!

Mike really likes his job and seems to be the apple of his bosses eye, at least that's how he sees it. He seems much happier and fulfilled, which makes him a TON more fun to be around. He is traveling a lot and helping with trade shows and other important business events. I won't bore you with details. Just know that he is doing something he likes and he's super good at it.

I am having a little bit of a harder time adjusting to the move. I love that I get to spend so much time with Max but it's really hard sitting around all day thinking. I am having a better week. I just decided that I needed to make the best of this because I will be wishing I could sit at home all day and play with Max once I'm back to full time work. But I miss home more and more everyday. Thank goodness I'll be visiting in a month!

Max is SO big and getting the funniest personality. Here are a few things he's learned/ his favorite things:
*CRAWLING!!!
I have videos, cute videos. But Blogger hates my videos and won't upload them. So you'll just have to trust me that he is a crawling machine! Mike was concerned that he would crawl backwards for all of time. But I knew he'd figure it out, and when he did I cried. He's getting TOO big TOO fast!
(Crawling to play in/eat the curtains)

DID I JUST CRAWL?!?

*Pulling himself up on every piece of furnature, wall, staning toy or person he can and walking around  while holding on. And if he falls he's right back up. He's a pro!

*Yelling and making silly sounds. He LOVES the sound of his own voice. He will just yell and laugh and babble forever. Mike's parents tease me because I babble incoherent things right along with him. It's actual quite fun, we have a good time together being silly.

* Mimicking sounds and words. He can click his tongue, make a smooch noise(just learned that today he even blew a kiss twice, once to Grandma Pat over Skype and once to Daddy) He can say Mama and Dada. Mike thinks he doesn't know what they mean but I tell ya Mama only comes out when a real tragedy  has occurred(bed time, falling down, hungry, tired, poopy, wet, lonely, whiney, bored....etc, etc.) And I swear, and I'm sure no one will believe me but he's trying to say doggie. Whenever he sees Banan, Mike's parent's polor bear of a dog he makes a Daggg Daggg sound. Also when he sees our dog Pooka, he says Pah Pah Pah.

*LOVES the dogs! Oh goodness he gets excited when they are close to him. I let him play with Pooka quite a bit and as long as I am close she begrudgingly obliges. He loves when she wags her tail and it tickles his face. He giggles and giggles!

*Feeding himself really well. He loves the little rice puff treats made for babies. He also loves graham crackers and a rice cracker for babies called mum mums. Meal time is also social time for Max. He is so vocal and its usually when he makes new noises and faces. It makes the tedious task of spooning mush into his mouth a little easier when he's so entertaining.

aaaaannnddd.... some randoms.
ENJOY!

 Playing under the laundry basket.

Havin so much fun with Dad!

I'll also add that Max is THE happiest baby in the world. He is non stop smiles. Even when he's not feeling so great or hasn't had a nap he is just great. We are SO lucky to have not just an easy going kid but one that is just spilling over with happiness.

Life as we know it... for now.

I know its been quite some time since any real blogging... apologies.

It's been a busy few months. As I'm sure most everyone knows we no longer live in the great 801. We are in the middle of a transition to Seattle. Which involves a pretty long "visit" with Mike's parents, Tony and Sharon, in McMinnville, OR. They are graciously opening their home to us for a few months until we get the condo in SLC sold. (a link just in case anyone wants to buy it!) Needless to say its been a crazy time but its also been a pretty fun adventure so far.

Here is a quick update on the cuteness that is Max:

He started doing this little head shaking thing in the car on the drive up. He first started doing it to keep himself awake I think but now he does it for fun. Now he's stopped doing it, and I never really got video of it. So, hopefully he starts again so I can catch it.

He's SO close to pulling himself up!

Sharon and I went to Target last week to get out of the house and I was browsing some fun stuff for an Easter basket for Max and I picked up these plastic eggs and he got super excited! I gave him the package and he looked at them so intently. Needless to say I had to get them for him.

He loves dumping over the toy basket and "rescuing" his puppy. He won't stop taking toys out until he can free the thing. Which usually leaves the basket empty.

And here are some random fun pictures I've been taking lately.
Enjoy!
